Roselle, also called Hibiscus, is a plant that grows pretty pink flowers. These flowers are used to make the tea. In Jamaica, it is called as Sorrel or Agua de Jamaica in Jamaica, Rosella in Australia, and Zobo in African countries. It is known to help in controlling blood pressure and bad cholesterol; as well as in relieving menstrual pain. Like camelia sinensis (tea), Hibiscus is rich in antioxidants. It also contains antibacterial and anti-inflammation properties.
Hibiscus tea is great to use for Kombucha brewing or on its own. Drink it plain, with sweetener or with a splash of lemon juice.
